Volunteer Programs
We are looking for volunteers who love animals, nature, and want to make a difference in the environment. Our volunteer opportunities are hands-on, interactive, and diverse. We hope that you will join us in helping spread the word about environmental conservation and wildlife preservation. |
Typical volunteer activities can include:
Asis Wild Animal Rescue Center: Learn about the animals, their personal history, and their plight in Costa Rica. Help take care of the animals by feeding them, cleaning their cages, and assisting in repairing or building new cages.
Local recycling project: Learn how to make banana paper from recycled paper, which are then used to sell as artesian to support a local women’s co-operative.
Reforestation: Help reverse the damage done by deforestation by preparing tree seedlings for delivery to reforestation programs.
Community construction projects: Lend a hand and watch as a group effort materializes into a house, an eco-friendly garden, or a community center. This is a great opportunity to show leadership and commitment to enhancing the lives of others.
English Teacher: Be a role model, be an assistant English teacher in a small rural school. Many times, rural schools are not able to fulfill their basic English requirements due to a lack of well trained English teachers. Help these teachers by creating a dynamic learning environment with a native speaker.
