Volunteer Costa Rica

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds that would like to take part in our programs.  Our volunteer programs are hands-on, interactive, diverse and include aspects of Costa Rica culture.  We hope that you will join us in our mission to share culture, community, and promote the importance of conservation.

Volunteer options

1- Short-term volunteer programs

Asis wild animal rescue center: Help take care of the wild animals by feeding them, cleaning their cages and assisting in repairing or building new cages.

Orphanage: "An experience full of love". This program is the perfect place for volunteers looking for opportunities to share their love, passion and skills with these unfortunate children.

Community construction projects: Lend a hand and watch as a group effort materializes into a house, an eco-friendly garden, or a community center.  This is a great opportunity to show leadership and commitment to enhancing the lives of others.  

Note: You can choose to participate in more than one project during your stay.

Prices

Volunteer at Asis

*After 8 weeks $400/week

Short-term volunteer programs include:

1. Instruction. 2.home stay (including meals, laundry). 3. 24/7 support.

All our volunteer programs are 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

2- Half day tour and volunteering

We start at 8:30 am with an introduction about the rescue center.Then we follow the trails around the reserve, stopping in front of each animal enclosure to learn about them.

After a coffe break, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the animals, helping take care of them.

Usually activities

• To prepare diets and feed the animals.
• Repair, maintain, and construct enclosures for them.
• Make toys for the animals.

Duration: 3 ½ hours.

Price per person: $45.

Kids 4 to 9 years old: $25.

If you have any unique skills or interests that may benefit our community, please let us know and we will do our best to put them to good use.
