Service Programs in Costa Rica
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who would like to take part in our programs. Our volunteer programs are hands-on, interactive, diverse and include aspects of Costa Rican culture. We hope you will join us in our mission to share culture, community, and promote the importance of conservation.
1- Short-term Service Programs
Asis Wild Animal Rescue Center: Help take care of wild animals by feeding them, cleaning their enclosures and/or assisting in repairing or building new enclosures.
Orphanage: “An experience full of love”. This program is the perfect place for volunteers looking for opportunities to share their love, passion and skills with these unfortunate children (Intermediate Spanish level is required).
Note: You can choose to participate in more than one project during your stay.
But ‘why pay to volunteer?’ you may ask. Well, part of this money goes to pay the family who hosts and feeds you, some income is spread throughout the local community, while the rest is invested in direct support of the valuable work for wild animal rescue center that Proyecto Asis carries out, every day, all year round. This allows us to feed the animals, repair and build enclosures for them and look after their needs.
Short-term service programs include:
1. Instruction. 2. Homestay (including meals, laundry). 3. 24/7 support.
All our volunteer programs are 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
If you have any unique skills or interests that may benefit our community, please let us know and we will do our best to put them to good use.
We also offer combination Spanish and Service programs. Please contact us for more information.
